Impact Litigation

HALSA litigates high-impact discrimination cases that address the civil rights of people living with HIV and other blood-borne infections. This includes class action, multi-plaintiff or individual cases involving cutting-edge legal issues in the area of HIV rights or removing systemic barriers for those living with HIV. We challenge discriminatory practices by government agencies, refusal of service by businesses or medical facilities, and unfair admission or discriminatory practices of schools. We frequently co-counsel these important cases with our partner organizations. We choose cases that will help us have the greatest impact in protecting and advancing the rights of people living with HIV.
